Electronic Doodles

I love doodling with pen and paper simply because I love using a pen on paper. It’s great practice to just pick up a marker and doodle on a page to get your ideas down, to develop those ideas and then to draw them over again when you make a mistake or change your mind. But what about when you have a design or an icon that you want to share with the world or turn into a product? Enter Electronic Doodles.

Electronic Doodles can enhance your images for use electronically. This means you can do things like changes colours quickly and easily, erase and redraw sections and add more than one image together to create a whole new picture. You can do this with both doodles that you have drawn electronically and with doodles that you have hand drawn.

You can also take a doodle picture that you have hand drawn and just lighten, whiten and brighten up the colours, like this.

I’ve managed to create some great little doodles that I love just using the Samsung Galaxy Tablet and the stylus that comes with it.

Then I was able to take those images and turn them into quilt labels, printed onto calico to be sewn onto quilts that I made for gifts.

And just for the fun of taking some of my doodles and putting them together to create a picture I made this owl picture.

I originally used the sketching app that comes with the Samsung Galaxy to draw these doodles just in black and then used Inkscape and Gimp to edit and colour the images. Now I’ve just purchased Sketchbook Pro which I can use on my laptop, iPad and Tablet. I love Sketchbook Pro and the ability to just play with colours to create several different looks from the same picture like I’ve done here with my stars.

I’ve also made a jolly mess with colour.
